Hi
I have a start up problem with my Acer Aspire 1650. When i start it up with the AC adapter its slow, the mouse won't work properly and i have to click three or four times just to try and open a program. Also the CPU is running at 100%, with system idle taking up 71% and System 29%. But when i disconnect the ac before i turn on the computer, it starts fine on the battery, runs like a charm and i can use my computer normally. I know my battery is completely buggered bec ause it only has enough power to get to the log on screen then it tells me to switch to AC power immediately. Once i do, the computer runs fine, but not with the AC from the word go.
So my question is, is this a common problem, everything i read about dead batteries/AC adapters and CPU seems to be oppisite. Should i go out and buy a new battery or could there be something more sinister going on
Cheers

Try running ur laptop without the battery with just the AC only, if its fine then get a new battery. You need a new battery anyways if it that buggered. Well from my experience, laptop should run fine or better on AC than battery. Maybe the power settings were set to power saver on AC and high performance on battery ? you should take a look at the battery/power tray icon.
