Hi there,
I'm looking for a laptop for my Nan which obviously doesn't need to be high end but does need to be quite quick and last at least 5 years without being a complete relic! Linux is out of the question, not because it's no good, but because she can get help from friends easier with Windows. I found one on ebuyer which looks quite good, has good reviews and wondered if anyone knew of any better/cheaper alternative options. I don't really want to be spending more than £400. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152309 Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Stuart |

What's the usage pattern? Will she be using this around the house or taking it places?
I would recommend a 10" netbook like a 1000HE, Samsung NC10, etc.

The issue with the smaller ones is that a small screen may be difficult to read and the small keys may be difficult to type on for someone older. 10" is a good middle ground.

She'll just be using it for surfing the net. Storing family photos, videos and a small amount of music.
Thanks for all your suggestions. |
