the system requirments for msn are as follows

Operating systemMicrosoft Windows XP SP2 or Windows VistaProcessorMinimum 800 MHz processorMemoryMinimum 128 MB of RAM (256 MB or more recommended)BrowserInternet Explorer 6 or laterInternet connectionInternet functionality requires dial-up or broadband Internet access (provided separately). Local or long-distance charges may apply.ResolutionMinimum 800 x 600 (1024 x 768 or larger recommended)
however you may want to give yourself a little extra leg room and speed by getting a more moddern laptop. the dell inspiron 6400 will serve you well and it only costs £350 inc vat and postage.

however if you do want to go for the cheapest of the cheapest you will have to go for a referbished or second hand laptop as you will have a hard time finding a latop of specs that low brand new. ebay is most probally the best site for this, here is a list of laptops going down from £150 http://listings.ebay.co.uk/Laptops_W...istingItemList

you might want to spend 150 on the laptop and leave the other 50 for a wireless router or something so you can browse the internet around the house, in the garden, on the toilet, etc

laptop processors are smaller, they consume less energy and produce less heat making them more expensive.
