Default Cracked LCD!

Hi, My name is Mark
i saved up for a laptop since last year and used some christmas money and birthday money from christmas 06 and my birthday 07 to buy a £450 lenovo N100 laptop. I recieved the laptop and everything was working fine until after about two weeks it crashed and would fail to turn back on again! I sent it to lenovo to be repaired as it was still under warranty they fixed it for free, However they saaid that the screen was cracked! It definately had not been cracked when i sent it so must have been damaged in the post! lenovo said they will not repair it free of charge as it was not a technical problem and had not been damaged by then. does anyone know how much it will cost to repair - lenovo said they could give us a quote but they said if we didnt use it they would charge us £60!

Any help??

thanks in advance

It won't be cheap. About 100 quid for a manufacturer to sort the screen out on a laptop.

Ok well it depends really on the size of the screen, it could range between: 60-140 pounds depending really, as i have never encountered this problem i can not give an exact amount all i can tell you it ant gunna be cheap my friend, should of insured it as said above.

Did you send it by a carrier? If so you should have automatically been given insurance in the cost of the carriage.

Contact the carrier.

Yeh, before you touch the screen or the laptop for that matter, go let us know about how you sent it to the company. There is a good chance that if it was by a courier, they will be liable for the damage caused - if it was sent properly.
