Default Daughter needs laptop for college

Evening all

As above, she needs a laptop. No games or anything.....maybe storing music and some pics but mainly for project work......and she needs a connection for a printer!! for the next two years!! Honestly I have been looking on the internet but my brain is starting to hurt. The only reasonable one I can see is the Dell 6400 approx £400.00. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks All
Terry

Hey up.

The Dell 6400 is a superbly built machine, so it'll take some knocks.....and if I know kids at college it'll need to. Decent screen as well.

Printers are primarily connected through USB now so any laptop you purchase will connect.

I'd also have a look at pc world as they usually have some 'loss-leader' deals going on. They're doing a Compaq at the minute that will suit; 15.4" screen, Celeron cpu etc for 350.00.

Okay, it's not a fabulous spec but for the usage you quote it'll do just fine.

I wouldn't get anything over a 15.4" screen as the unit will start to get a bit hefty. A 15.4" screen laptop will weigh around 3kg with battery.
