hi can anyone help.my daughters laptop has had liquid damage,would changing the motherboard be my best bet of rescuing her laptop?its a dell 1525, can any dell board be compatible?

Changing the motherboard may only be part of the repair required, especially if the battery was not removed immediately, after the spillage.

Have a look at this page .... it will give you an idea of what else might need to be replaced, if you are unlucky.

Unless you know what you are doing or "know a man who can" ... you might be better off taking it in somewhere and getting a firm quote .... depending on age/spec, it may well be cheaper just to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

If you decide to a buy a new one, selling the old one on ebay for spares or repairs might help make some of your dosh back :-)
Unless your feeling daring and want to strip it and sell as parts!
You might want to remove the Hard Drive tho, otherwise someone else could possibly get everything that was on it!
