| I have a dell inspiron 1520 which came with Windows Vista Basic and i want to downgrade it to windows xp. Problem is that after formatting when i boot when xp then it shows an error message setup cannot find any hard drives i understand that the problem is that vista writes it's own MBR which windows xp doesn't understand and we have to boot in AHCI mode but how to install SATA drivers as the laptop doesn't have floppy drive and exactly which drivers to install. If anyone can help please provide the detailed description of the solution thanks.. |

| Reformating, this time erasing the previous partition and then install the OS on a new partition you'll then make. Make the partition NTFS, also don't do the quick format. This might work, I'm no pro. o_o |

| First of all locate and download the XP SATA Driver, then grab a copy of nlite.
