Default Gateway M675 Fan is Giving Me Problems!!!

My gateway m675 fan is making this horrible noise in my laptop. It sounds like it's scraping against something inside. I looked at the fan and saw no damage to it. What should I do? I can't find just the fan for this laptop. Do you think there would be a substitute that I could use? Thanks.

Sounds like the fan bearings have gone.

Laptops repairs are a bitch, you will need the correct fan and it will probably be a PITA to fit.

thanks. it is a pain in the ass to find. it sucks because it's such a nice laptop and there doesn't even seem to be any real damage to it. even when i open it up you couldn't tell there was any problem. it just sounds like a chainsaw is running when i power it on.

If it's out of warranty might just have to live with it. A fan isn't likely to be expensive but fitting might cost you a few hours labour if you cannot do it yourself.
