hi all
i need to get a laptop for the misses, all shes gonna do is surf the net, burn a few cds, and play a few old games like the sims, ive looked at many sites and seem to be going round in circles concerning price and specs the only things that are certain is she would prefer xp home/pro not vista and a 15in screen
so my question is would an old p3 do the job ok? and what ram size should i look for in a laptop? 256mb? 512mb?
or would you guys not touch a second hand one just go for new one ( shes seen one from tesco of all places) and if i do, what size ram again would you go for with vista installed?
many thx

You would only need 1GB of RAM.

If it's only surfing the net, she could manage with less. And i think the Sims minimum specs is only 256mb RAM.

Yeah but you don't wantto get the minimum spec computer and what about the future she dont want to be buying a new one in a few years because that one is slow and out dated. If i was you redden i'd go with 1GB RAM.
