Im getting a new laptop, preferably with windows xp, vista, operating system. Need it for college, media, gaming aka wow. Also needs to be decently priced, I only have maybe a grand to spend. What's the best bang for the buck.
Thanks,
Reece M.

Any laptop with a 8600m will play whatever at low settings and do media stuff OK but if I were in your position I'd just get a good (MATX if in a dorm) desktop and a EEE/other netbook. When you're in college you won't really need to play WoW on the go, even if you can find a wireless hotspot, you'll be needing to type notes and not be stuck in a crappy seat because you have to be plugged in or it runs out of batteries in an hour.
