Hello,
I found a laptop that i think it suits my needs but im not totally sure so im going to ask for suggestions and for some feedback on this. The specs are: Model: Sony Vaio SZ 61 MN/B Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista® Business Platform: Intel® Centrino® processor technology Chipset: Mobile Intel® 965GM Express Chipset Processor: Intel core 2 dual core clock speed: 2.0 GHZ Memory Speed (MHz): 667 Memory Type: DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024MB) RAM: 2GB Hard Drive: 120GB Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS GPU WLAN: Built-in at 54mbps Battery LIfe: max of 5hrs At first glance this looks to suit my needs and has a good price on it. But however theres some aspect im not too sure about as im not a specialist on this area.. 1) Most plan to use it for work during travel, mostly involve apps such as office 2007 system and all others. I believe it will work fine though... 2) From time to time i have hobby interest on computer programming using visual studio. Learnt that theres huge demand of processsor space required for that to run efficiently & smoothly so im not totally sure if above specs will meet it requirements.. 3) As im travelling a lot, most time i will be connected to a network to access internet and at the speed of 54mbps, doesnt that seem to be a bit of slow - i know much higher speed out there avialable like 108, 300 mbps etc... OR does that matter at all?? Thanks in advance. |

Should work fine. Any C2D will give you good performance.
As for #3 - even on most T1 lines/commercial settings, you won't get more than a 1MB speed anyway. Don't worry about it :)
