Hi im new! woo!

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400

Intel Centrino 1.86 Ghz

512mb RAM

Xp Home SP2

80Gb HDD

Can anyone help me to find out what my onboard graphics is set to and how to change it?

Xp or Vista? (to show you how to view the gpu chipset).

You can't change it.

Bugger. For some reason I thought you put 'laptop' somewhere in your post.

Err.....oops?

Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Display > Settings.

Under the pic of a screen it will say "Display:"

Under that it will quote your card/integrated chipset.

Yeah it is a laptop lol.

it says: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family

not sure what that means

In that case, no, you can't swap out the graphics chipset. 1) Because it's a laptop and there's not standardized layout for gpu's in laptops. 2) You've an integrated chipset.
