hi i have a acer laptop with xp on it and the long and short is it gets to the windows startup screen and then the thing just hangs what can this be and how can i fix it please help me

Can you boot into windows by tapping F8 and selecting safe mode?

hi thanks gang ok first no it is about 3yrs old
yes i gave the f8 a go but still hangs even in safe mode ????? and no no new software sorry |

I had similar problems with my pc, It is the fault of power not offer enough energy. try testing it by disconnecting those hardware one by one. Wish u luck!

I would suspect it's probably a RAM issue.
Do you have a warranty still? Because I don't want to tell you to start digging in there if it'll void your warranty.. :S |
