I don't follow... You left if frozen for weeks, that can't be good. Didn't the power run out?

Default HELP!!!!!!! Laptop has frozen.

We power it down by just pressing the power button then when we turn it back on it will come up to start windows normally cos it wasnt shut down properly, so then when it loads up and gets onto the desktop it just freezes up again with the loading symbol so u cant click on anything, hope this makes sense.

Default HELP!!!!!!! Laptop has frozen.

Have you tried booting into safe mode?

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer and start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

If you can boot into safe mode, then we can take it from there. Did any disks come with the laptop?

Edit: Also if your able to start up in safe mode without any freezing try running CHKDSK in 'Run'
