Hey all i cant install on my hp 2133 it wil get so fa and then say it wont go any furtherwithout the bios update i have found the bios upate but dont no haw to install it? can anyone help please!!

Is the cd the original cd that came with the laptop?
if so it could be damaged.

sorry i should have explained a bit more i bought the hp 2133 and it came with linux and im trying to install xp sp1 over the top of it! The problem i have is that it keeps telling me that it requires a bios update and im unsure how to install the bios update

Often a downloaded bios update from HP, is in the form of an.exe file.
This, when run will allow you to create a bootable disk, CD or USB key.

Once the media has been created, it's just a case of inserting the created media and rebooting the machine.

Because The one with linux was £100 cheeper! i can install windows i just cant install the bios update! it gets so far through it then turns its self off!
