This is over a year old laptop. When I turn my dv9500 laptop on, I get black screen. However, when I either move the screen up and down a few times or knock the bottom screen panel with my finger a few times, it comes up.

I tested the battery, it seemed to be ok. However, when I tested with my external monitor, nothing cames up at all regardless what I have on my laptop screen.

My guess is the video card but I'm not sure. I am also thinking the inverter, but my VGA out doesn't work with external monitor! Any suggestions for my problem would be appreciated! My warranty is expired 5 months ago.

Thanks,

Jimmy

Definately sound like graphics card to me, if it was the inverter the external screen would work
