I Have a E1405 Dell Computor with No Power

does a dell laptop have a fuse in them that may blow?have looked over completely and dont see where 1 could be located.my cpu does not come on.the first light comes on for about 3 seconds then cuts off ----i have removed every piece 1 at a time and checked after each thing and still nothing 1 st light to left comes on a few seconds only

after removeing cover i see a small black square that looks slightly melted right above the cmos battery on the motherboard.can that be my problem?can it be replaced or is another motherboard needed? thanks

Impossible for anyone here to diagnose remotely ..... you are going to need an expert repair shop I'm afraid.

ok but could someone with experance inside the desktop to tell me what part i am speaking of---it is a brown square --left and up from c-mos battery on motherboard.cant seem to find on any site!!!

Without a spec sheet for the motherboard there's no way for us to tell.

It sounds like a ceramic Capacitor... (Brown rectangle and soldered on each end)? Does the light on your power brick go out when you plug it into the laptop?
