| Hi I am trying to network my toshiba laptop to my PC. It has 2 USB ports but the problem is the Wireless USB adaptor I am using on it is quite thick, making access to the other USB port difficult as both are very close together. As I wanted to also get a mouse for the laptop, I decided to get a USB hub, which has 4 ports and claims it is self powered. However, when I connect the hub and insert the wireless adaptor, the laptop can't detect it. Now, I gather you can configure the port that the hub is connected to, to provide more power to run the accessories but I cant remember how ? If anyone can help I would be grateful. :o Regards Dean |

| The hub should work without messing with settings, if the port powers a printer or wireless adaptor it will power the hub.

Have you tried the hub in another machine? Personally I would get an extension lead for the wireless adaptor and get rid of the hub if it isn't working. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/21926 That's just an example, you can get short ones (6 inches). My System: Hybr!d
