Ok so i have just gotten an iPod touch MB528LL, I have upgraded to version 2.2.1 (5H11a)
I have looked and looked but i have found no good tutorial, or instructions on how to Jailbreak it. I have tried to use ZiPhone, which didnt work and QuickPWN, that i couldnt get to work because i couldnt get a firmware file. How can i Jailbreak it, while keeping the 2.2.1 update on it? |

you have the 2nd generation touch. there is no jailbreak yet but the dev team is working hard on it. onlt the 1st generation and the iphone have jailbreaks now. but its worth the wait because the 2g is so cool.

it works for everything except the ipod touch 2g. currently the iphone dev team is working very hard on redsnow. that is the exploit that allows it to be jailbroken. it will be out as soon as they can get it working untethered
"Redsn0w is a tool in development that will be used to jailbreak the iPod Touch 2G.There are currently two videos on Dev Team member musclenerd's Qik page,[1] these videos show the iPod Touch jailbroken with 3rd party software installed. The jailbreak is done in that video by putting 3rd party software on the iPod and bypassing the signature check with redsn0w. This is done with a tool called Recovery Tool made by one of the Dev Team members. There is no set release date for redsn0w. However the Dev Team released "redsn0w lite" which currently only allows the owner to have a tethered jailbreak, meaning the device must have code manually injected into the bootloader in order to boot. Currently, the iPhone Dev Team is working to produce a version that does not require tethering. The iPhone dev team has also released a redsn0w lite version, which is downloadable from it's official website." - wikipedia |

QuickPWN is good, though it only works for the iPod Touch 1g I believe, which is what I have... Though mine isn't Jailbreaked, and I don't feel you really need it with the AppStore, though it's pretty cool to have it JailBroken I've heard.
