Default The lappy.

Hey all, i was looking at this laptop to buy for myself and my girlfriend, i want to kick my desktop out and start fresh with a laptop for comfort reasons My desktop is killing my back and i only use it for youtube, forums, google, photo editing with gimp, email, msn, downloading music you know light stuff, I'm not into gaming at all or serious video editing etc so I'm not after a high end laptop, just something that will cover my needs as stated above. I obviously want it to be fast though, don't want to be able to make my breakfast while it boots or loads programs like gimp, I'm on a budget and would stretch to maybe 300 as I'm buying for two people, the laptop here:

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139119/alternatives

or

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140709...specifications

Has caught my eye and seems to be pretty much all i require in a lappy, but as I've been told before "if it looks to good to be true.. Then it probably is" , this price seems remarkably low for its specs, i think so anyway but my knowledge on laptops is very limited so i wouldn't be 100% certain, any advise would be very much appreciated and the odd opinion on the laptop in the provided like would also be appreciated. Cheers, Kano

Default The lappy.

I got your PM kano but am in a bit of a hurry.

A quick glance at the specs/price tells me they are pretty similar.

I would take the HP, the build quality will piss all over the Fujitsu.

Fujitsu make some good machines but those lappys look and feel cheap, the HP will feel much better.

That HP is also from the same line as my new lappy and I can say it's a smooth bit of kit.

HP hands down for me.

Samsung do some awesome dual core models. If you can find the R60 at a reasonable price go for it!

I agree with Dave on HP quality, but not sure whether you will be happy with a Celeron ??

Did you see this one, it's not an HP, but it is more or less within your budget and is quite powerful, compared to the Celeron.

Default The lappy.

Yes ... the core duo will feel much snappier and will be better suited to multi-tasking. You will be able to run multiple applications, without signoficant lag.

There will also be power savings, which will improve battery life.
