| I have a Philips freevents x56 which I have had for around 6 months. The battery life is listed as 4 hours and was as such when I started using the laptop. However, it has gradually lost charge and is now down to a maximum storage of 2hrs 40 mins. It claims this is 100% storage. I looked in the book and it recommended calibrating the battery every 3 months as batteries gradually lose power. I did this overnight, assuming that my battery would be restored to 4hrs capacity. However, it is still at 2hrs 40. Should I do it again? Is there any way to return my battery to normal? Please help! |

| Batteries like to be cycled.

Which means they like to be charged fully, then drained fully. Problem with laptops is people leave them plugged into the mains all the time. This kills the battery cells and thus the battery in general. Only solution is to cycle it a few times to see if it improves or get a new one. My System: Hybr!d

| Calibrate it lol? Not a term I'm familiar with where batteries are concerned. Like I said mate try discharging it fully then recharging it a few times to cycle the cells. Other than that replace it. |
