Default which laptop brand is better?

Depends on your requirements.

Gaming? Rock.

Out and about? Samsung, Fujitsu or Sony.

Build quality? Dell, Sony or HP.

Bang for buck? HP and Dell.

Just my thoughts.

Default which laptop brand is better?

i'd strongly avoid a Dell as they haven't proven to be good machines. I know lots of Dell machines that are in sore and desperate need of revamping or heavy maintenance, including a machine i bought from them myself. they're turning into the next Microsoft of the computer building industry. they're copying other company designs, whoring themselves out to the buyers by appealing through college education, and their cheapness. i mean, yeah who doesn't? but they've been more annoying about it than any other company i know of. and i've only ever seen one half-way decent model of PC from Dell, and that was their XPS laptop. but even that thing could use a few tune-ups, upgrades, and overhauls. they even bought out Alienware to make more money for themselves.

if it isn't clear to you now, i frown upon anyone that even THINKS of getting a Dell and with good reason. they're bad machines.

i'd go for a gateway, lenovo, a really high end Toshiba, or an HP or one of their subsidiaries like compaq. gateways and HP computers are really nice and they're some of the better selling brands. Lenovo is a chinese company that makes really high quality laptops. they used to be part of IBM until they branched off from them after all the money they made. decided to make it big on their own. and the only good Toshiba computers i've seen were the higher end models meant for gaming.

seeing as you're going for programming mainly, i'd stick with a Lenovo, HP, or Gateway laptop.

or if you're not into the whole Microsoft distro, you can go Mac and pick up a nice Macbook or one of the new Air models. y'know, the paper thin macbook that's light as a feather. Macs are fairly nice machines. all it takes is getting used to a new file system and new shortcuts. but it's fairly intuitive.

from there it's really up to you mate. personally, i don't shop by brand really. i either custom design it on a decent website somewhere like ibuypower, or i look up all the exact parts i want through newegg.com's search engine and see what computers come up and then i weigh the options and reviews.

Fujitsu is not my choice at all I had one and it was my worst laptop experience and I believe Sony is expensive compared to other brands with the same specs

I thought about Mac but can I use C++ with it?
actually I'm thinking about a major switch to Mac but still doing the homework
