I have a Toshiba P15 Laptop with a 2.8 Pentium 4 HT Processor. While cleaning the heatsink I decided to throw in the 3.8 Pentium 4 HT processor I had lying around. When I powered it up the screen stayed off, the fans ran for a few seconds then stopped and the power light stayed on, with nothing happening at all. So I figured bad CPU, I'll put the old one back in quick. After i put it in the exact same thing happened. Any help please!

You might have just knackered the power supply.. If you've put in a 3.8GHz desktop P4 then you might have fried something and the symptoms lead me to believe it's the PSU..
