I have a Compaq presario C700, running vista service pack 1, I use Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. The computer runs good, the issue I am having is when I run the defrag, she freezes on me. I have run a virus, ad ware, and mal ware and the computer is clean. Even loaded a few other programs, noting is found. The disk cleaner runs and cleans. I have even run the %temp% and deleted all. I have ran the whocrashed and nothing was registered. My issue is with the defrag freezing. I even tried the defrag in safe mode, it still freezes.

Is my hard drive done?
What can I do to fix this?

Thanks.

Could be the hard drive, could also be overheating, clean your fans.

Try running chkdsk before defrag. Something obvious-hope you have enough free space on the drive for the defrag. If its not that, try an alternative defragger like Diskeeper or so.
