I was playing the Sims when my laptop just cut out and shut itself down. I haven't had any warnings regarding windows update or anything, so I don't think its that. Why else would it do this?

Any suggestions would be great. Is it worth me doing a HijackThis scan?

Speedfan will give you temps, however if it is straight turning off it's almost certain to be overheating.

I would remove a few panels on the bottom and see of you can blow out any dust, particularly fan areas.
