Default Laptop problem: Hard drive in trouble?

I have a Toshiba Satelite A135 laptop which is repeating the same thing over and over. One moment I was online with my laptop working fine and then suddenly the screen blacked out and it turned off by itself.
I turned it back on and entered my password but then it takes me to a black screen with this repeating over and over again:
"Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8100E/8101E Fast Ethernet Network Adapter v1.02 (060510)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
I don't know what to do, I've asked some people and they say there's something wrong with my hard drive. I've had to shut off my laptop manually everytime and each time I start it up it shows that again. Someone help please.

When laptops turn themselves off it is normally related to overheating, dust clogs the fans real easy.

1st thing is to make sure any fans are clean.

Turning off can cause hard drive file corruption, what error messages do you get on screen?

What specifically happens, in detail?

I'm not sure if the fans are dust clogged, I'm kinda afraid of opening it up or doing anything to it, in case I do worse to it. There's not much else to describe I think. When I press the power on button it prompts me to give my unlock password like usual but instead of taking me to the desktop screen the screen is black with these words repeating on it:

"Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8100E/8101E Fast Ethernet Network Adapter v1.02 (060510)

I have no choice but to shut it off manually since it won't let me leave that screen.

Sounds like it could have a serious hardware fault if it will not even get to the post screen where it checks RAM and drives then attempts to boot.

Is it old? How old?

The hard drive is the part that stores your data. That part is probably OK.

Right now it will not even get to what we call post screen (where your RAM etc and drives are checked), which is normally a bad sign.

So, chances are it has a serious hardware fault and when laptops have a serious hardware fault it is normally not economical to repair them.

Obviously it's difficult to be sure diagnosing over the Internet, but I work in the trade and that is what it looks like to me.

Is there any warranty left? Or maybe claim on your house insurance.

=\ I didn't know it was that bad. I have to check up on my warranty. So I suppose I'm going to have to bring it into the shop so they can tinker with it. Thank you for help!

media test failure means it cant find your hard drive. either the hard drive is dead or the cable is loose

There's a compartment for your hard drive on the bottom of your case. Open it ,if you are sure about it, and see if your hard drive is damaged or loose.
