I have plugged in another monitor for my laptop, I just want a copy of what is on the laptop screen.
The screensaver is on but no desktop icons, if I drag windows over to the right they appear on new monitor, I have tried the display tab and making the new one my primary one, but the monitor goes into sleep mode so I chose extend my windows onto this monitor. I have checked there are no conflicts, they both seem to be listed as the same thing, is that righ?t. I'm confused now. I don't want to do to much as I dont want the laptop screen to go off, I will be lost!:o

Thanks if anyone can help

There should be a function key that will allow to toggle between the laptop monitor and the external one.

By the way Felicia we would ask that you keep to the original post when replying regarding the original issue. Thanks. :)

What model is your laptop Felicia?

We can then make a further investigation.
