If what your sister is doing isn't performance-intensive (probably not per your OP), I would though still look into netbooks. While the screen is 'smaller' size-wise, you get nearly the same resolution on a lot of budget laptops (1024x600 vs 1280x768 or so iirc). For photos, up to 720p videos, no reason not to get something like the EEE 1000HA in my opinion unless the physical size of the screen is a huge priority. I do 50% of my regular internet tasks on my netbook vs my E6400 desktop and I don't notice a huge performance decrease in everyday tasks at all.

Spoke to her,she def wasnt a laptop rather than a notebook,wants to ditch her dated desktop and use a new laptop instead.

If she uses the Laptop instead of a Desktop, tell her not to leave it plugged in all the time, as this will kill the battery rather quckly. Better to use the battery now and then and let it run low and turn off at the plug when not in use.
