Hi Elijah.
Short answer: No, you won't be able to upgrade the cpu. The cooling in place will only handle a Celeron. The chassis will take a new chip, but the heapipes/copper block won't be able to handle any extra heat. I wouldn't recommend upgrading the cpu in a laptop for the faint hearted anyway. It's not nearly so simple as swapping one out in a desktop. If you don't mind me asking, how much is this lappy? because a bog standard 512mb of ram (with 64mb of that taken for the graphics) doesn't leave you with much for the o.s and running applications. Especially if it's Vista.

It's $379+$39 shipping so it's going to be almost $420 total.
Anything else anyone would recommend? |
