Hi, Looking for a laptop for student-y use as well as The Sims 2 and 3 (when it's released). Must have at least 3GB RAM, screen size over 15", graphics cards prefered - 9600M G500 GS or 9600 GS w/ 512MB dedicated, Core2 Duo processor and as cheap as possible! Would very much appreciate help looking for such a laptop.

Hmm i prefer ATI Graphics in a Laptop for sure. the ATI Radeon 3000series is better than the 9600. I have the ATI Radeon 3470, and it shares with my onboard grahpics.

I had thought the person helping me choose the components had said no ATI graphics but she'd just said no AMD processor so I guess either graphics card brands are fine :]

How much £ can you stretch to? If your on a budget you'd be best of with ATI & AMD over NVidia & Intel at a 15". In percentage wise could you estimate your 'Game to Student-y' ratio? Check out www.ebuyer.com do get an idea of the prices you'l be looking at for the specs you want. And last but not least, You might want to Pm Carbon, he's a wizz on this type of subject.
