This made me laugh.
My cousin called me yesterday because he had a problem with his laptop - he spilled some water over the keyoard. After setting it upside down and drying it out for about 24 hours, the laptop had returned to normal save for the b key, space bar and the screen - which worked, however didn't have a light to display anything so the only way to look at anything on-screen is to shine a light on it or squint in daylight. No files were lost and everything else seems in order. Is there anything that can be done about the screen without paying for someone to look at it? |

Replace the backlight?

How much would a backlight cost?

Dunno, you'd have to do some research. Probably not very cost-effective though.

Your gonna need a keyboard and possibly a new screen or parts of one. Depending on the age and what you paid for it it probably isn't worth fixing, labour costs alone. Maybe claim on house insurance?
