Default laptop won't boot

bought an acer aspire 5920 a few month ago but i'm struggling to start it.
i hit the start button and the keyboard lights up as if to boot...then nothing, just a blank screen and a few blue lights on keyboard, i've tried leaving it switched 'on' for 10~15mins before now and still nothing happens.
I have to switch it on/off sometimes upto 15~20 times before it boots up
just thought i'd seek some expert advice for a fix before returning it which i don't really want to do as i'll probably be without for sometime which i cant afford
any help appreciated
dave

if it's under warranty I'd go in and ask them to fix it. You don't want to start messing with it and void the warranty. It's clearly a hardware issue.
