my misses recently had a few issues with her laptop. long story short it wont boot. she presses power on, the power light comes on, the fans start and the wireless light comes on. normally the wireless light goes off and it boots, however the wireless stays on and it just wont boot.

after about trying several times it may boot, work for about 20 minutes and freeze completely. no blue screen or anything.

it did get sent back for a new motherboard etc, personally i don't think a new board was fitted

ive opened up the laptop to the furthest i can, took out the motherboard battery and replaced...... obviously without the spare parts i cant really check whats wrong, was hoping you guys could shed some light

p.s aint been on here in awhile, hope you are all keeping well!

In you're next lucky 20min break, see if you can find a BIOS update, maybe they did replace the board but it had been sitting on a dusty shelf with software from '95.

It's worth a shot - what's the worst that could happen, it err, refuses to boot?!
