| So my laptop won't even turn on no matter how many times I press the power button. It was working fine last night and I haven't done anything new to it recently. Any ideas what's wrong with it, and how much will it cost me to get it fixed? |

| Is it on mains or battery? The battery may just be flat, that's simple, plugging in will obviously sort this. If the batteries screwed then plugging in will bypass the battery, so that's not a problem anyway, and you just need new battery. If it's already plugged in, then get back to me and I'll come up with something else, could be almost literally anything at this stage.

| I don't think the problem is the battery. I tried turning it on after unplugging it and plugging it back in and after taking the battery out. It still doesn't turn on. It is still recieving power though, I can tell because there's this blue light where the power chord plugs in that only turns on when it's recieving power. |

| I've had it for just about a year now. I would really like to fix it since I don't want to have to get a new one after just one year. |

| Right, but based on the symptoms it's highly likely to be the motherboard imo, or other main hardware. Probably not talking a simple HD or RAM swap here. For the price of a mobo and the labour to fit it you could probably replace the laptop for a new one, with a warranty, something you wont get if you replace parts. What happens if it does the same thing again 1 month after fixing it. Even doing it your self is a PITA, you will need special tools, hours of time and patience and you could fit a $400 motherboard and it might still not work. Pretty negative I know but I work in the trade and I don't touch laptop major hardware repairs at all. They are a big headache. |

| If you've had it for about a year check out EXCATLY how long as soon as you can. The usual standard warranty for laptops (without buying a longer one) is 1 Year, so find out quick and send it off if you can.
