Hi there.
Try the following: 1 - update the usb drivers 2- uninstall the drivers - restart laptop - re-install drivers 3- Go to: Control panel > Performance & maintenance > System > Device manager Then click on Universal serial controllers. If any of them have a exclamation mark against them then click o it and run the trouble shooter. Hope these help :) |

HI. That didn't work.
On a second note, this laptop has gone completely haywire.. It seems to have problems displaying the screen when the laptop is restarted, so I'm forced to cut it off then cut it back on. Also, If I plug anything such as game controllers in the usb port Windows tells me that its not recognized as soon as I plug it in the usb port. If i try to plug anything heavy, like an external dvd drive or a USB HDD I seem to lose function of the mouse and keyboard ( they freeze). If I unplug the hdd , for a minute I gain control of the mouse and keyboard then the entire laptop just freezes. I have tried to reinstall windows but its doing the same thing. The laptop is a Compaq Presario v2000 running windows XP sp3 Thx for your time. |
