Hi there,

I am wondering whether I have a virus or if this is simply a malfunction in Windows XP. I am using a Dell laptop and my left click button (and when I press on the mousepad) both work in a similar way to the right click button but can also be used for some left clicking. Clicking my right button now does nothing and has not fixed the problem.
Also, when using the internet, my cursor cannot seem to recognise links until i open up another window (in this case I am using 'My Documents') and then re-click back onto the internet page. It is frustrating to have to keep doing this.

I have not had this problem up until today and have found no cases like mine online for guidance as to what to do. Could the wiring be a bit frazzled? I accidentally spilt a drink over my laptop this morning and when wiping it down, pressed many keyboard keys at the same time which froze up my laptop. So I restarted and then these problems occurred. Initially I also had problems with logging in, but that seems to have been solved now.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Blitzgirl42 xx

You probably fried it by spilling the drink on it.
