Hi, The Left Click button on my laptop has suddenly stopped working. The strange thing is that when I get to the logon screen the left click works absolutly fine, however, as soon as I'm logged on it doesn't work I have to plug in an external mouse and use that. Any ideas why it works before i'm logged on but not after?
All help much appreciated, Many Thanks, Andy! |

If your touchpad driver has settings, check them. I know mine does. It's usually in the windows control panel. Sometimes an advanced option in the mouse option.

Yep, I know there's a mouse settings section in control panel where you can assign functions to the left and right mouse buttons. Check that.

I have checked that and its still not working, I can assign 'left click' to the right button and it works fine but the actual left button still does not work as after swapping them it should 'right click'! After further troubleshooting I have found that the left button does what ever the centre button is assigned to. I have tried unistalling then reinstalling the drivers but that did not work. Is this a software problem or could it be a hardware problem and the left button has somehow made contact with the centre button?
