Howdy folks. A friend called me and asked for a recommendation for a laptop. I know NOTHING about laptops. Can you fart smellers, I mean smart fellers
 help him out? He wants a cheap laptop just for web browsing. I asked about games, he said no. He probably wants (even if he doesn't know lol) something that can handle videos in a decent manner, and probably 4GB's RAM and as Big a HDD as possible while still a budget machine. Is 4GB's of RAM "cheap" in a laptop? Thanks in advance.

Just grab a netbook like the Mini 2140 or EEE 1000HE and put a 2GB SODIMM in it. Buy a copy of CoreAVC for video playback too.
