Hi everyone, before i go and get a netbook, i wanna ask all the owner of netbook what are their perfomances in perticular gaming. The only games i play are Guild Wars, BF1942, War Rock, Combat Arms and some emulators, Can a netbook run them ? I dont wanna get a laptop because they are too big and i will be carrying around my netbook quite alot, my budget is limited to £350 and i'm currently look at a Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz HT Enabled, 1GB 667DDR2 RAM, GMA950. I worried that it wont run a N64 emulator because on my 2.8GHz Celeron, 1GB RAM and a GMA900 it stutters on Super Smash Bros. with the FPS dropping to 20 - 25FPS, will it happen on the netbook ? I heard the CPU on netbook are total crap and the GMA 950 doesnt look good to me. How would the games/emulator run ? Please help me, I dont want to splash out £350 and regret it. I appreciate any comment

Netbooks utterly suck for gaming. You'd be lucky to get 10 fps on anything.

I'd recommend something better than a netbook. If you are really persistent, get some thing better than 1GB of RAM. Some of the games you listed might use a bit more.

Personally, I'd wait for Nvidia's ION platform to hit notebooks. You'll be able to do a bit of gaming on that (No Crysis, but newer games at low netbook resolutions with settings turned down should be fine).

Ion plays games no better than standard platforms.

You may be able to play older RTS titles but forget it for almost all the games you've listed.

aww well, I'll have to save up an extra £100 for this one then http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...rmationSection . It has a C2D and GMA 4500MHD, I suppose it could run those games or even perhaps CoD4 aswell ? Its a nice tiny notebook !!! Oh and thanks for your replies :D I guess its not worth getting netbook anyways since it doesnt have a DVD drive = external dvd driver which sucks and cost a fortune.
