| If you can twist your parents arms for another £89, this is well worth a look.

To be honest, anything much under £400 will either be out of date or very low spec, with Celeron CPU, which will be slow and drive you nuts. Personally I would not recommend Dell .... they are now cheap and nasty with plasticky keyboards (toy like) and are made from the cheapest parts, to maximise on profit. Their Customer Service is in India, so if you hit problems, you have No Chance. My System: Home Build

)So there giving me a whole 1,000 pounds to spend on a brand new laptop. As long as they can pay per month. So i've been checking out alienware and found a great one for just over 1,000 pounds. It even rival's my desktop which is a thought. http://alienware.co.uk/product_pages...l_default.aspx The one on the left. Comes with 8800M GTX and a Intel core 2 duo Extreme CPU. Tell me what you think. Also ive been quite interested in the Dell XPS laptops. Now im looking for a laptop that can run decent games ( Oblivion, World of warcraft, Gears of war maybe. ) But i'm not going to be playing things such as Crysis since thats what my desktop is for and i don't want my tower going to no use at all. This is a stricly portable gaming machine. That way i can take it round to my friends house. Shove it next to his Tower in which he paid 1,500 pounds for at pc-world and play Bioshock and laugh at how his tower sucks :P I know. I'm a good friend. My System: Liam's rig..?

| Thats a good laptop, however remember the mobile versions of video chipsets aren't supported for most games, this doesn't mean they won't work, it just means they won't be tested etc. It's just a shame you can't get one of those in the case and screen of the one on the right.

| I don't game on a PCs myself.. but I think I'm right (please someone correct me if I'm wrong) in saying that you want a reasonably big cache for gaming.. which 4mb isn't, as I said I don't game and I have double that..

But otherwise I think it should be alright.. I fell in love with a similar graphics card.. but decided it was a ridiculous sum to pay if all I was going to use it for was drooling over.. My System: FordyPC

| ok so here goes. Alienware are beating dell on price AND performance. By a long way. I can get an Alienware with better perfomance than dell for 300 pounds cheaper. With better support!

So heres my choices with alienware. I've checked both laptops they do and customized them to the price that i can afford. £1,426.45 for: 2.5ghz 6mb 800mhz CPU 8700MGT 4gig ram OR OR OR OR OR £1,387.68 for: 2.0ghz 4mb 667MHz SLI 8700M GT 4gig ram So its basicly, better CPU vs another GPU. EDIT: Forgot to add. the more pricier one is a bit better in terms of laptop, it's case is simply better and has glowing keys and stuff. :P Just thought i'd say. My System: Liam's rig..?

I think i'll go with the mroe expensive one with the 8800M GTX. It run's just 3-4fps less in SLI games like Crysis but still runs Crysis on max with over 30fps and looks great! Plus the better CPU really makes up for the loss of ram. And it's just an all around powerhouse. It rivals my Desktop :P My System: Liam's rig..?
