Hello,

I am planning to buy a new laptop for university use. I dont know what brand or what particular model out there to go for?
Its mainly for development therefore i need a laptop that has good processing capabilities meaning it can run many and good applications.

I looking for a laptop that has:
  • good graphics card
  • High ram (maybe 2GB)
  • High processing speed + clock speed
  • fair amount of hard disk space - around 100 - 250GB
  • Must be at least Core 2 DUO processor
  • preferably light weight + size

any recommendations would be great. I personally found a few recently like sony vaios and Dell and Toshiba/ Samsungs but most of them are quite bulky and really expensive especailly the Sonys.

Cheers

The top and bottom preferences are, generally, mutally exclusive.

A dedicated gpu needs a larger chassis for it's gpu and cooling layout.

What size screen are you thinking? Generally, the mid to high end gpu's are installed into screens of the 15.4" and 17" variety.

Budget?

Well... My budget maximum is £1600. I will definetly not pay higher than that.

I willling to pay around £800 to £1400..i reckon that is the reasonable price.

Monitor size is about 13.. to max of 16
