Agreed ..... Dell's have become very cheap and plasticky now ..... not well built at all and the internal parts are often inferior quality. Aftersales Service is terrible (via Indian Call Centre), which just adds to the misery, when things go wrong ..... and they will, trust me .

On that basis alone, the Toshiba is the better buy.

Out of interest, in the UK, Tesco's, one of our largest Supermarket chains, have started selling Dell Laptops. I studied one yesterday and the build is like a cheap plastic toy .... pretty damned awful in fact. I doubt it would stand up to any rigorous use and looks very fragile, especially the flimsy plastic keyboard. Compared to an Acer, Fujitsu, HP or Toshiba it just isn't in the same league. The only plus point for them is price, but as the old saying goes .... "you get what you pay for"

You guys seem to be overlooking the fact the Toshiba doesn't even have a graphics card.

Go with the Dell, it won't be running games at max quality but you'll be able to use it for gaming.

don't go with either of them. toshiba has had bad quality control, and you could probably find a better computer from HP or Gateway. both are infinitely higher quality to top it off.

surf newegg and you'll find tons of better stuff. here: i'll find you one right now:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834117588

it's a sony vaio
intel core 2 duo 2.0 ghz
nvidia geforce 8400gs mobile
2 gigabytes RAM 667mhz with room for up to 4 gigs
17inch screen
320 gig hard drive
vista home premium
nice dvd drive
and battery life lasts about 2.5 hours usually

it will definitely easily play your games, and it's in the same price range.
