My brothers laptop has recently been developing a noise similar to your average duck, I narrowed this down to the hard drive. Me being me thought that finding a part for this blasted machine would be easy but it turns out that it's a bloomin' difficult task.

The drive is very very small, I think it's smaller than the 2.5" hard drives found in normal laptops and finding one on the iQon website is a tad difficult since iQon dont have a website.

I'm sorry I dont know the model of the laptop becasue it's pretty old, Pentium 4 2.66GHz with no HTT, 40Gb hard drive, dvd r/w, 512Mb of RAM.

Any help finding a hard drive would be greatly appreciated!

It has to be 2.5", nobody was making 40GB 1.8" drives years ago and the iQon laptops weren't sub-notebooks. If it really is 1.8" then eBay lists some at £25 but I bet it's not.

If you take it out and read us the manufacturer part code we'd know. There's an external cover to unscrew and then it pulls out.
