Default Power adapter

I have a laptop that will no longer charge...i have tried to plug the adapter into the wall and a power strip...it worked before, but now it will not charge the battery. I have noticed that if i hold the adapter to my ear that i hear a faint beep which sounds at about 1 second intervals when it is plugged in. If unplugged from the wall the noise stops. Would this be an indicator noise saying "im dead or fried"?

Default Power adapter

Either that or the DC plug's dead.

Only way to check is to buy another one and see.

Default Power adapter

Could you get your hands on a second power adaptor? and if you can and it still doesnt work then maybe its time you replaced your battery.
