I have an HP dv9715nr laptop that needs a motherboard. I can buy one
from HP but they`re very expensive. The only info I can get from them is a model #. IF I want to buy one from Tiger Direct or some other place, how do I know which one will work? Thanks in advance. |

You can only get them direct from HP or maybe secondhand from eBay. The mobos you see on tiger are for desktops only.

Either way replacing a laptop mobo is a major job, i consider myself highly experienced with PCs and my company would turn away the work. Buy a new laptop, you'll get a new warranty too, something you wont get with a new mobo. What happens when something else goes a few months down the line...? My System: Hybr!d
