I found this, like it, but again im not the most savvy in hardware. what caught my attention was the 260M. Rated #21 by notebookcheck.net as of 2009-08-15

i was wondering what some people would recomend for CPU's ad Ram, with Windows 7 out and all. I do a fair amount of hard CPU work, but right now my T5800 (core 2 duo, 2Ghz) works fairly well. Also wondering about the Sound card. Never really knew what the difference would be...

Thanks

You don't need that to run Windows 7, if you can run Vista, you can easily run 7.

You wont get a professional sound card on a laptop, there's no point. On a desktop you'd gain negligible performance gains with a sound card but you get better sound quality, assuming you get a good one.

Any 775 processor will go through 7 like a breeze, a good dual core one and you're set. Any DDR2 or DDR3 and you're good to go. 4Gb is cheap enough and a good amount. Get a reliable brand such as GeIL or Corsair and you wont go far wrong. Any Vista capable PC will run Windows 7.
