Default Sony Vaio VGN-FS115B Battery Problem

Hi Guy's

I've popped in cause i am looking for some help before i send my computer away fro an expensive repair when it is prob something i could do myself with someones help

I have a problem with my battery in my sony Vaio Laptop.
When i boot the laptop up it comes up with a message saying this battery is not connected or not compatable with this computer. It display's the battery in the bottom right hand corner but has a cross threw it as if it has run out of power i am able to double click on it and see that it say's 0% remaining. I bought a second battery to see if this is the problem but it is the same with new battery. Now i have run some update packages throught the sony vaio support site and it no longer comes up with the error message saying the battery is not connected or not comatable. But the laptop still will not run off battery power or be charged the battery icon is displayed in bottom right but again with the red cross through it and displaying 0% remaining. I tried to down load a programme and it told me that i need to switch to AC power so i don't loose anything, this is the confusing bit the laptop i thought was running of ac power, so if i take the battery out it downloads ok but put the battery in and it says i need to switch to ac power as if the laptop was running off the battery.

Basically i am looking for some pointers, i have a decent knowledge with computers but need someone to point me in right direction, ie how do i get into bioa to see if the battery is been reconised?????

MAny thanks in advance guy's

Michael

Default Sony Vaio VGN-FS115B Battery Problem

well i have no idea what a bioa is... but a bios is different for every mobo, usually its something like pressing f8 or delete or escape when the computer is booting. In there will be some power options to fiddle around with. Also the problem might be with the sony program that is managing your battery. I would suggest just deleting the program as the microsoft one is pretty good by itself.

There is an power option in the HP bios. To get in the bios you just have to press the key pointed in the first seconds after the computer starts, before the RAM check. So, enter in the bios and try to switchnto maximize computer power. Hope this answerd your problem.
