| hi guys 3 questions: -is this a good laptop? http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/654/861...archtype=genre -does it have good graphics capability? -it has 3gb of ram, 1x1gb and 1x2gb, does this mean it would not run as fast as dual channel ram or does it make no difference? thank you |

| That's not a laptop, that's a really hot, battery-powered desktop with an integrated LCD and a mediocre graphics card. If you want that sort of performance buy it in a desktop.

| actually no dude, it's for my friend who is an architect and wants a nice fast big screened laptop (mainly for use in the house so weight is not an issue) that he can use the program "vectorworks" on (among other things), i wasn't sure if he needed a good graphics card for that? |

| The point carbon is making is laptops are for portability. As soon as you want high spec get a desktop. A high spec laptop is 2x the price of an equivalent desktop but the spec will have had it's wings clipped to save space, price, heat. It will last next to no time on it's battery, will overheat like a bitch which raises reliability issues and they are big and heavy, which defeats the point. |
