Well I am now in the market for a new laptop PC to replace my old-dead HP and I am into light gaming,I mean the current system I am using is an AMD Athlon 2GHz with 1.5Gb DDR2 ram,and the worst video card ever made:an Nvidia 6100,(but it does have a last laugh:Windows 7 x64) and it just don't cut it for gaming in any way,(its rocket fast for day to day use though,real nice.) ...sooo Here is the setup I am looking at and it is...cool actualy: msi Gx620-001US
So what's your guys opinion of it,the turbo button overclocks the CPU to anywhere from 2.6GHz to 2.83GHz,depending on system temp readings,from what I have read.
Here is the sale page for it:Clicky-click
Also if you guys know of an better setup for the price,preferably one that does not look like an spray painted fish of some sort{aka no Alienware/Qosmio}

Buy a video card and a netbook instead of paying $900 to play games on low.

Erm^
Well,I want more than a netbook though,I mean a core 2 solo does not interest me,neither does a gig of ram,I am not afraid to buy used and linix equipped.

hmm,well...I want a laptop system capable of running faster than anything I have seen,for everyday use,plus capable of gaming if needed,I think I might have found my deal breaker idea though,I am a proud user of windows 7 x64 and I think I am going to try use Microsoft's EULA agreement towards them and deny it,that way I can widen my range to $1,100 (IE $200 back to me via vista refund) and use an 64bit OS,here are the specs I want:
4gigs of ram
2.4ghz+ CPU
GPU at the level of an nvidia 9600m GT or better.
Kinda edge-y looks but not looking like an toy(no wave-y graphics like Asus ether)

A 9600m GT is hardly top of the range. Very far from it.

Laptops are crap for games, period.

If you're a serious gamer, buy a desktop.

Yh I second that Sonic laptops are no for gaming my friend, desktops are cheaper, easier to build and will save you alot of money. And you will get the experience of building and installing the software from scratch.

It's not just down to cost, manufactures just don't put the top of the range hardware into laptops, so even with infinite money, a desktop will piss all over it because these laptops you seek do not exist.
