hey i have set my network to 100MB/s so i can transfer files at that speed but i only get 12MB/s when transferring files. I try to transer a 2.6GB test file (dvd image) from one computer to another. i have tried 3 different computers, different network cables, though a switch or through router, different files, XP to vista, or vista to vista, in the roof we have cat6 in the roof and cat5 in the house and no where near the 90 metre max length (we have about 25 metres worth).

wireless wise we only have a few MB/s - no where near the 54MB/s im told i have in network status (when i plug cable in im told i have 100MB/s)

the only active computers are the ones transferring the test file

what factors could be effecting me?

Hey the speed of the network connection is measured in megabits per second whereas the copy speed is measured in megabytes per second to find the speed of the connection in megabytes you need to divide it by 8, which is 12.5MBp/s I hope this has helped you James
